A Palatka, Florida man was attacked by two pit bulls who ripped off his right arm and seriously mangled his left. As of this moment the man remains in critical condition, and it is unknown whether or not his arm can be reattached. Needless to say there is no way to derive any humor from the situation, but once again tragedy is compounded by the heinous stuff that comes spilling out people's heads.
Typical dog loving a-holes?

Most people would have a hard time drawing a straight line from dog attack to a need for eugenics, but not Curtis.

The K9 final solution.

Statistician and dog genius Gov't Mule ways in with a dose of hard science, and not something he just made up.

Oddly this may be one of the few topics I post on here in which I have personal experience. I once owned a pit bull, and found it to be one of the sweetest dogs I've ever come into contact with. It even let me use it as a pillow. Of course personal experience does not trump facts so let's consider those for a second. There's a lot of unconfirmed and probably fake statistics coming from either side of the line so chew on these tidbits: There are more than 40 million households in the U.S. that own a dog or dogs. The average number of dog related fatalities in the U.S. per year tops off somewhere around 26. There are more than 300 hundred different breeds of dog. It has not been proven that one breed of dog is genetically more aggressive than another. More than 3000 people in the U.S. choke to death on food per year. So the reality is that you're far more likely to be fragged by a kugel than to be killed by a dog. Does that put it into perspective at least a little? Maybe before we start constructing puppy gulags we can apply a little moderation.
